FURNITURE DELIVERY NOTES
We endeavour to deliver all furniture within 4 to 8 weeks. We will wherever possible advise you of any anticipated additional delay when you place your order.
NB: Please check access for the furniture/items you are ordering, as it is entirely your responsibility to ascertain that access is possible. If access depends on a precise dimension, please ask for a dimension check. If our delivery personnel judge that an item may not fit into or through the designated access space or that they may incur physical injury or risk damage to the item or your property, then we reserve the right to leave the item in a safe and convenient alternative location. In exceptional circumstances, and entirely at our discretion, we may consider the return of a custom made/painted/upholstered product, however there will be a 30% restocking fee plus any carriage charges.
Please note: our premium delivery service is a two-man, unpack, check, 'room of choice' service, with removal of packaging. At the point of delivery, it is your responsibility to check and ensure that you are entirely happy with your purchase, prior to signing the proof of delivery and before the delivery team leave your premises. If, for any reason, you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, please contact us immediately, or, advise the delivery drivers to contact us, in order to discuss your concerns and to agree if the item(s) need to be returned to us. If we have to arrange a return collection at a later date this will result in an additional charge. Any damage to the furniture must be reported at the time of delivery and clearly noted on the proof of delivery. Damage/faults to goods will be at your own risk if they are accepted in their packaging and not checked at the point of delivery.
In the event of any damage reported at the time of delivery, we can offer a discount (at our discretion) and advice on remedying the problem.
Please ensure that you provide adequate protection to all floor or floor coverings, remove pictures and ornaments that could possibly be damaged whilst attempting delivery, as neither ourselves, nor the appointed delivery company, can accept any responsible for damage to flooring or other items.
Uneven floorboards/floor coverings/carpets etc, however slight, can effect the smooth functioning and alignment of doors, but are not deemed to be a product malfunction or fault; alignment of doors can be simply rectified using shims or wedges under the furniture and although we are happy to advise on a potential solution, please note that this is not the responsibility of our company.
Please advise us when ordering large accessories or furniture items if you require delivery to an address that is not your main residence, for example a second home, or if you require specific delivery days/times as this may incur an additional delivery/storage charge.
PAINTED FURNITURE FINISH INFORMATION / DISCLAIMER
As An Angel at my Table Ltd, we have been selling our European pine painted furniture for 25 years and have many returning customers, who know and love our products, which are spray and brush finished with non-toxic, but hardwearing water-based eggshell paint.
However with the influx of factory-sprayed unsustainable painted furniture, bought in containers from China and the Far East, customers have come to know and expect these hyper-perfect finishes and we are finding it increasingly difficult to meet some customer expectations, so we feel the need to underline that our beautifully crafted furniture, made using traditional joinery methods is made from hand-finished painted pine and consideration of this should be made before purchase.
Our furniture is built from seasoned, kiln-dried selected pine wood which is used for its affordability, sustainability and longevity but wood is a natural product which responds to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. Humidity is the main reason why real wood tends to crack, split, bow or twist so although every care is taken to ensure our products are able to handle temperature and humidity changes, the conditions of your home can affect the wooden products you buy from us. Your furniture may experience small movements and cracks as it adjusts - this is not a fault, but a natural occurrence within the fibers of a natural product.
We choose to use solid wood rather than mdf as our main painted furniture construction material, however, mdf is used on the sides of some of our modular bookcases and wardrobes to ensure that they are completely flat to provide a neat join between sides.
In general our customers prefer the unique quality that wood gives to our furniture but customers who have less tolerance of these imperfections should consider furniture made from hardwood or other materials. Although we can give our expert advice and provide aftercare where appropriate to remedy minor problems, An Angel at my Table Ltd will not consider small cracks and lesions which may appear over time as reasons to refund or to replace furniture.
Paint colours - whilst An Angel at my Table Ltd take every precaution to ensure colour accuracy and consistency of finish to reduce batch to batch variations, slight variations may occur. The European Paint Association (CEPE) have issued guidance on permitted variation and An Angel at my Table work within these tolerances, extrapolating the guidance to include our specially developed non-RAL colours.
SPECIAL NOTES RE BESPOKE MODULAR UNITS WITH OVERLAPPING JOINS
We have designed our modular ranges with their unique overlapping join system especially for the trade, as it allowed us to manufacture large runs of bookcases and cupboards in bespoke sizes; achieving a more fitted look without the expense of fully fitted furniture.
In response to the requests of our customers, we have made these trade ranges available to the domestic market in painted finishes, bridging the gap between trade and domestic furniture - however, although this allows the homeowner to access ranges otherwise only available to the trade, the unique overlapping joins may require a small amount of adjustment/snagging after the delivery team has installed and assembled the units. We provide a factsheet which shows how to minimise any joins you may deem too visible and we are always available to advise on any issues - but of course any major faults/defects can be addressed by ourselves or our aftercare company, Emmeira (formerly Homeserve).
We would like to emphasise that these unique systems are recommended for households with a competent DIYer or access to a tradesperson to carry out any final minor adjustments/snagging.
PAINTED FURNITURE CARE
As wood is a natural material, susceptible to damp and heat, it is very important to care for it, extending its life and preserving its original nature, preventing discolouration, cracking and lesions. And as we would like you enjoy this furniture for as long as possible, we recommend the following:
- Avoid covering the furniture with insulating materials, as, if wood is not able to breathe, it may swell and crack
- Avoid fluctuating temperatures and levels of humidity.
- We recommend a humidity level of 55-60%, otherwise the wood may swell, bend or crack.
- Ideal average room temperature 18-22º, higher temperatures may cause the wood to dry out excessively and crack or split.
- Do not place in close proximity to radiators/heaters.
- Protect your furniture from excessive heat, protect from direct sunlight and do not put hot objects directly on the surface.
- Clean with a non-abrasive damp, but not wet cloth with mild detergent if necessary
- Protect with coasters, trivets etc as with any wood furniture
- Stains, such as curry or wine can be removed with a mild diluted bleach solution, rinse thoroughly as leaving bleach on the surface can cause the paint finish to lighten
FURNITURE SAFETY
Tall and two-part furniture: whilst the top section of wardrobes and dressers are designed to sit securely onto their bases, however we recommend fixing the top section to the wall or to the base for additional stability - please contact us if you require any further advice.
Bookcase ladders: ensure that ladder is always correctly positioned before climbing. Ladders should not be left with unsupervised children.
Whilst our chest of drawers are traditionally made and hence correctly proportioned and balanced (ie the carcass is of sufficient weight to counterbalance the drawers unless they are overloaded or climbed on - for example by an inquisitive toddler), we suggest securing to the wall with brackets such as 'Baby Dan', if you have any concerns about toppling. Please contact us if you require any further advice.
CONFORMITY OF GOODS
We take great care to ensure that the description and specification of our products is correct at the time of publishing - however, specifications and descriptions of products on this website are not intended to be binding and are intended only to give a general description of the products.
The colour reproduction of the products is a close representation when viewed on colour-calibrated screens, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used to view the products. Paint charts, wood samples and fabric swatches are available to order, we recommend always requesting a physical sample of the colour or fabric you have chosen.
Please note: handpainted swatch cards and painted wood samples are a close representation of the final colour and although each batch of paint is mixed to the same recipe, slight tonal variations may occur between batches.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES
Due to the large variety of products available on our website and hugely fluctuating prices, we provide shipping quotes on a case by case basis. We provide individual quotes for the most competitive rate available on the day. International shipping quotes are valid for 48 hours due to price fluctuations. Orders shipped outside the European Union are not subject to VAT, however, local taxes and customs charges may apply, for which we cannot be responsible. All quotes are provided in £ Sterling (GBP - Great British Pounds) and not in your local currency.
In an attempt to combat credit card fraud; if you choose to pay by card, wherever possible, we will obtain card verification from your bank.
Goods can only be delivered to the address at which the card is registered.
Our parcels are very carefully packed prior to dispatch, however, we are unable to accept responsibility for damage/return of fragile items dispatched outside the UK, as international courier services will not provide insurance for breakage of such items.
RETURNS/REFUNDS
FURNITURE
Please note that custom-made, upholstered and/or painted-to-order items are non-returnable unless deemed faulty, as they are made/painted & upholstered specifically to your individual requirements. An Angel at my Table Ltd reserves the right to offer a repair or partial refund for small imperfections which are not considered to be faults or reasons for replacement or return.
Please check your order carefully before purchasing, to ensure that you are ordering the correct colour/fabric/size etc. We recommend always requesting paint swatches and fabric samples before confirming your colour/fabric choice.
As per the Consumer Contracts Regulations of 13th June 2014, you are entitled to a 14 day cooling-off period, however, when we confirm and check your order, usually by telephone, we will offer you the possibility of waiving this cooling off period, which will require your confirmation by email to confirm that you would like to do this.
SMALL ITEMS
We hope that you will be delighted with your order, however, if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with you purchase simply notify us within 30 days, then return it to us within 14 working days of notifying us for a full refund or exchange - items must be unused and returned in their original packaging. We recommend that you use insured, registered delivery service and obtain proof of purchase, as we cannot accept responsibility for goods lost or damaged in transit. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the original delivery charge or the return postage unless the item(s) are faulty, in which case we will reimburse you in full. Faulty items which are to be returned, must be reported to us within 30 days.
ANY MISSING/DAMAGED ITEM(S) MUST BE REPORTED TO THE COMPANY WITHIN 48 HOURS OF RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER.
THE COMPANY IS UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOSS OF A PARCEL, UNLESS REPORTED TO THE COMPANY WITHIN 7 DAYS FOLLOWING THE CONFIRMED DATE OF DISPATCH.
CONTRACT CANCELLATION
If you are not happy with the items you have chosen, you may cancel this contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, provided that you exercise your right within fourteen working days of receiving the product - all custom-made and customised items excluded. Faulty items which are to be returned, must be reported to us within 30 days.
Our painted finishes (unlike factory spray-finishes) allow the character of the woodgrain to show. Our furniture is made from pine, beech, selected sustainable hardwoods and mdf - please note that exposure to excessive heat and/or humidity may exceptionally cause some swelling of drawers or shrinking and splitting of panels which can be easily rectified but are not deemed to be reason for refund, as they are natural occurances beyond our control. Should you require specific advice on aftercare for any problems please contact us; see under Furniture Notes for general advice on aftercare.
Failure to deliver within the estimated time is not considered as grounds for cancellation.
Should you wish to cancel your order prior to dispatch, (custom-made and customised items excluded) please contact customer services on
+44 (0)333 200 7371 or email info@angelandboho.com. If your order has already been dispatched, please notify us of your intent to return your goods within 14 days and provided it is returned undamaged, unopened and in its original packaging within 14 days of notifying us, we will of course refund you in full. Please ensure that you check all items upon receipt and notify us of faulty or damaged items within 14 days.
